About The Safe House

We operates the only safe house in Somaliland, where we support survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and women with high protection concerns. WAAPO safehouses are located in Hargeisa, Boroma, and Burco, where we provide a secure and nurturing environment for survivors while providing a variety of essential services to facilitate their healing and empowerment.

SAFE HOUSE SERVICES

Accommodation and Basic Needs

WAAPO Safe Houses prioritize the safety and well-being of survivors ensures a conducive living environment with private rooms, clean facilities, and round-the-clock security. In addition, survivors receive three nutritious meals a day, ensuring their physical well-being is adequately cared for during their stay

Comprehensive Support Services

Psychosocial counseling for emotional healing, to express their feelings, process trauma, and regain their confidence.
Medical support to receive examinations, treatment of injuries, and access to necessary medications.
Legal support by professionals guiding through legal rights to justice and protection.
Emergency referrals for all forms of immediate assistance.
Family mediation to facilitate open dialogue, conflict resolution, and reintegration processes to foster understanding and rebuild trust.

Empowerment and Skill-Building

Life skill classes, including literature, tailoring, baking, and art..etc to enhance their personal growth and empower them to live independently.

Business grants opportunities from ( $2000 to $3000) allow survivors to start their own businesses ideas.
